A unique collaboration between literacy experts and Indigenous communities
In 2012, a partnership between 32 First Nations Schools and the University of New Brunswick’s Canadian Research Institute for Social Policy (CRISP) set out with the vision to increase the capacity of teachers, parents, and volunteers to help ensure all Indigenous children become confident readers and learners. Confident Learners is the only program of its kind to be built with and for Indigenous educators and children.
We are grateful to the advisors, administrators, literacy and education experts, and teachers who have been committed to realizing this vision for their students. We also thank each of our present-day leaders and teachers, who continue on this journey with us, and we look forward to future generations of confident teachers and learners.
